We are seeking a motivated individual for a unique opportunity as a Systems Engineer, based in Lincoln, Nebraska. This individual would be responsible for working directly with customers who are primarily original equipment manufacturers (OEM) of off-highway mobile machines to define and develop unique mobile machine applications. The individual would be based out of a JCA remote office and regularly visit customers to define system-level requirements of customized applications built on JCA technology, then work remotely with the JCA engineering team located in Winnipeg, Canada to develop, test, and deploy the system. The candidate who fills this role would be the primary customer contact for engineering development projects, and responsible for the system from concept, through requirements, design, implementation, verification/validation, and commissioning, supported by the cross-functional JCA engineering team.

This role requires an individual with experience in solving engineering problems that include mechanical, electrical, and software components using a systems-thinking approach. This individual will also be involved in the development of new business through working with customers to propose engineered solutions to mobile machine control problems. Cross-discipline engineering experience with software, electronics, and electrical systems, augmented with strong interpersonal skills are a requirement for the position. A background in control systems and communication systems would also be an asset. This role is key to expanding US presence of JCA Electronics, so an innovative thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit is essential.

Guidelines:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited University
  • 10+ years experience with the development of electronic and software systems, preferably for mobile machine applications
  • Industry knowledge and experience in at least one the following areas: agricultural vehicles and implements, construction vehicles, mining vehicles and machinery, or forestry vehicles.
  • Experience in software development for microprocessor based embedded systems is an asset, preferably for vehicle systems
  • Experience in design of closed-loop control systems is an asset
  • Good working knowledge of CAN, J1939, and ISOBUS systems
  • Ability to read an electronics and/or electrical system schematic
  • Experience and knowledge in system engineering principles (requirements development, design processes, verification, and validation)
  • Experience in design of control systems for hydraulic and electric control applications is an asset
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, with independent research to be able to get things working without much guidance
  • Ability to work to relatively high-level objectives
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience with working with customers

PCB Designer / Electronics Technologist

We are seeking a motivated individual for a unique opportunity in the area of printed circuit board design. The primary role of this individual would be the layout of printed circuit boards of various complexities, using the Orcad PCB design tools. The PCB layout would be for designs from anywhere from simple 2-layer boards, to densely populated 10+ layer boards, and include high-power designs where thermal considerations are key, sensitive analog designs, and high-speed digital designs where impedance matching can be critical.

A secondary role for this individual would be perform electronics technologist support functions within engineering for new product development. This includes design and build of engineering test jigs, build of electronics units, verification testing, and bill of materials entry and configuration management.

Guidelines:

  • A Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology from an accredited College or University, or equivalent

  • Experience in creation of drawings and gerber packages for manufacturing of printed circuit boards

  • Experience in functional and environmental verification testing
