Quality Manager

Seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, innovative thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit who promotes, develops, and oversees compliance of the company quality system. Effectively assuring compliance of customer requirements by managing quality policies, standards, procedures, programs and practices while driving and facilitating continuous improvement.

Job Duties

  • Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes, measuring production, documenting evidence, determining operational and performance qualifications, writing and updating quality assurance procedures
  • Develop and implement quality planning activities and process to assure quality from concept to production
  • Effectively interacts with production and engineering teams to maintain product supply and introduction of new products
  • Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures (ECN’s)
  • Works with supply chain staff to establish quality requirements for external suppliers
  • Works directly with suppliers and customers to ensure compliance and quality requirements
  • Write technical and management reports
  • Brings together staff of different disciplines and drives the group to plan, formulate and agree on comprehensive quality procedures
  • Manages and maintains the company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in process materials and components, processes and finished goods
  • Sets quality compliance objectives and ensures that targets are achieved
  • Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits
  • Develops policies and procedures to ensure quality products
  • Facilitates analysis and coordinates activities related to process/system improvement projects
  • Communicates with other managers to coordinate operations and activities
  • Determines staffing requirements to meet quality and delivery expectations
  • Maintains operations data and prepares productivity/quality reports for management
  • Directs and coordinates the activities of team engagement in quality functions including inspection, analysis and training
  • Makes final determination or dispositions related to non-conforming materials
  • Monitors indicators related to ensuring employees confirm to production or processing standards
  • Implements measures to improve inspection methods, equipment/tool performance, product quality, efficiency and morale
  • Facilitates preparation and delivery of effective performance reviews
  • Develops departmental budget and manages operational costs
  • Develop and achieve departmental goals and controls. Make suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality and productivity

Education/Experience

  • Post-Secondary qualifications – Engineering preferred
  • Five years minimum experience in manufacturing environment wish supervisory experience
  • Expert knowledge in ISO9001
  • Working knowledge with statistics, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors and customers
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft and databases
  • Strong facilitation skills (Root Cause Analysis, cross functional teams)
  • Advanced ability to read Engineering drawings
  • Proven experience in FMEA
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to guide and motivate others
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems

Electronics Assembler

Reporting to the Lead Hand, Electronics Assemblers are responsible for the manufacture of Electronic Control products for use by OEM’s in a variety of industries.

Job Duties

  • Assemble Electronic products through the use of assembly documentation, parts lists, hand tools and the knowledge gained through supplied training
  • Inspect completed products to ensure they meet both internal and customer specifications
  • Ensure work area is maintained in a clean, organized fashion
  • Participate in team Continuous Improvement projects
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints and drawings
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in an electronics manufacturing experience an asset

High Volume Harness Team Leader

Reporting to the Production Manager the High Volume Harness Team Leader is responsible for the day to day activities of a wire harness production cell focussing on continuous improvement of quality, productivity and delivery.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to.

  • Planning and Assignment of work to team members on a daily basis
  • Reporting of team productivity, delivery and quality metrics during daily stand up meetings.
  • Addressing team needs as they arise
  • Analyzing processes within the cell to improve productivity by eliminating waste and focussing on manufacturing best practices.

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally both one on one as well as well as in a group setting.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word as well as familiarity working with MRP/ERP systems is a definite asset.
  • Previous leadership experience in a team environment
  • Past experience with Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing.

Manufacturing Engineer

Reporting to the Production Manager the Manufacturing Engineer’s role is to assist manufacturing during New Product Implementation, Lead Continuous Improvement Iniatives for established products and processes and work within the frame work of JCA Quality Systems to address customer and production quality issues.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Create required assembly documentation such as Manufacturing Instructions, Termination Reports and wire cut lists focusing on standardization of processes.
  • Integrate manufacturing best practices into established processes.
  • Source new equipment and aid in the introduction of new equipment to shop floor staff.
  • Work with IT department to integrate sub processes and integrate capacity planning into MRP.
  • Work alongside Team Leaders and Production Manager, analyzing Team KPI’s to identify improvement opportunities and address these through improvement projects.
  • Evaluate and initiate ways optimize existing equipment usage.
  • Manage plant layouts as JCA continues to grow maximizing our use of space while ensuring product travels in the most efficient manner through the facility.
  • Work Closely with Sales as well as Engineering during quoting and design stages to ensure best manufacturing practices are utilized.

 

Key Attributes

  • A knowledge of both wire harness and electronics manufacturing
  • Ability to read both mechanical drawings and wiring schematics
  • Good computer skills
  • Experience in the creation of manufacturing documentation
  • Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices and tools such as 5S, Poka Yoke and Value Stream Mapping
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Wire Harness Assembler
